HEATING CHECK – LIST

CHECK THERMOSTAT CALIBRATION
An improperly calibrated thermostat will call for more or less heat than is necessary.

CLEAN AND CHECK AIR FILTRATION SYSTEM
A dirty air filter will substantially reduce the air flow which results in inadequate heating of your home.

CHECK AND ADJUST THE BLOWER COMPONENTS
Proper adjustment and cleanliness of blower and components are necessary for adequate air flow.

LUBRICATE ALL MOVING PARTS WHERE NECESSARY
A lack of lubrication can ruin the bearings and burn out motors.

CHECK AND ADJUST BURNER OPERATION
To insure smooth ignition, pilot light and burners are observed for proper operation.

CHECK LIMIT SWITCHES FOR SAFET
The principle controls in the furnace to prevent overheating and possible damage to the unit are your limit switches.

CHECK HEAT EXCHANGER
This is to assure fuel combustion and avoid the possibility of creating Carbon Monoxide.

CHECK FAN CONTROL
To assure the fan cuts on and off at predetermined temperatures in order to deliver the proper air temperature.

CHECK FOR PROPER VENTING
Improper venting can shorten the life of your unit as well as pose severe risks to your health and home.

CHECK GAS PRESSURE(ADJUST IF NECESSARY)
Proper pressure is required to control fuel input to the furnace burners.

CHECK ALL ELECTRICAL CONNECTIONS
Resistance caused by loose connections will create excessive heat which causes damage to the unit. This will eventually cause premature equipment failure.

CHECK FOR PROPER ENERGY CONSUMPTION
Inefficient systems cost homeowners up to 30% more in operating cost than properly maintained systems.

VISUAL INSPECTION OF BREAKER PANEL
If your breakers are too SMALL, it could be a big hassle. If your breakers are too large, you could have a fire.
